El Fuerte Marbella, the favourite for socialites
Spanish influencer Ana Boyer, aristocrat Amelia Windsor and content creator Darja Barannik have chosen the renovated hotel
El Fuerte Marbella as the perfect spot for their summer holidays.
A stunning location right next to the sea, a focus on self-care and conscious rest are some of the values that ensure that El Fuerte Marbella has been and continues to be an icon of the Costa del Sol.
Marbella, 2023. After a complete renovation project and its opening at the beginning of summer, El Fuerte Marbella is enjoying an exciting stage that puts a combination of its roots and cutting-edge styles expressed using Andalusian cultural richness, artisan traditions and a relaxed Mediterranean essence at the forefront.
It is precisely its timeless, joyful and authentic concept that gives the hotel qualities that set it apart in Andalusia and that captivate socialites -both national and international- including the likes of Ana Boyer, Amelia Windsor and Darja Barannik to choose El Fuerte Marbella as their perfect retreat on the Costa del Sol.
Ana Boyer, passionate about the design and views
The characteristics that most attracted Isabel Preysler’s youngest daughter the first time she visited El Fuerte Marbella were its interior design styles, the different areas of the hotel and its location right on the seafront.
It therefore comes as no surprise that the rooftop is her favourite place in the hotel: “the views are truly stunning”, says the influencer.
More than a typical luxury hotel, El Fuerte Marbella represents an authentic part of the Marbella experience, including its location in an old fortress, offering guests a unique experience. “It’s in the perfect location because it is close to the city centre in case you want to do something different, and it is right on the beach, so you can enjoy the sea whenever you fancy”, she said. Ana Boyer also recommends eating at Soleo, the restaurant on the beach, where she can enjoy these gorgeous surroundings.
Mother of two children and used to travelling around the world as a family, Ana Boyer especially enjoys everything that offers comfort and rest. “I like going to a hotel where the different spaces and areas constantly attract your attention with their interior design and special touches. This is how I feel at El Fuerte Marbella, a place where you also feel well taken care of at all times, something that is very important on holiday”, added Boyer.
Amelia Windsor, a fan of conscious rest
She visited Marbella as a child and remembers her stay very fondly. The British aristocrat Amelia Windsor was very impressed by the renovation of El Fuerte Marbella: “it looked great and the history of the hotel was very interesting”, she recalls.
If she had to choose her favourite area of El Fuerte Marbella, she doesn’t hesitate to say the lobby, a space she loves thanks to the combination of green tiles, arched doors and open space looking out to the sea. “I love that when you walk into the hotel you can see the sea, as it gives a real feeling of space and calm. I also love the trees at the entrance to the hotel, where you can hear the birds singing, as if they were greeting the guests”, says Windsor.
The feeling of well-being at El Fuerte Marbella was also a favourite during her stay: “I love being one of the first people to get up in the hotel and open the curtains to look out at the immensity of the sea. There is so much peace that you want to take a dip in the hotel pool and practice meditation in motion”.
Amelia is also a self-confessed fan of Marbella, where she enjoys swimming in the sea and strolling through the old town at night, as well as getting lost in the myriad of shops and going to bars and restaurants where she can enjoy the local gastronomy. The Soleo restaurant “is a must-visit, as being able to eat so close to the sea is very special,” adds Windsor.
Darja Barannik, loves doing sports near the sea
The Russian journalist and international fashion influencer Darja Barannik felt attracted to El Fuerte Marbella immediately. She wanted to visit after learning that it had been recently renovated.
“The interior of El Fuerte Marbella is stunning. Its mix of colours, materials and details immediately connected me to its universe” says Darja Barannik. The journalist also highlights the hotel’s excellent location, next to the beach and just a five-minute walk from the old town.
Fascinated by the design of El Fuerte Marbella, Daria has been impressed by the spectacular views over the ocean from her room and also from the gym, another one of her favourite places in the hotel, where she can keep up with good workout routines during her stay in Marbella.
In terms of the gastronomic offer, she mentions the breakfast and says that it’s “one of the best” she has had in a hotel, and the Soleo restaurant, a spot that oozes good atmosphere and excellent food, with fresh and delicious products.
But what Darja likes most about Marbella is its relaxed atmosphere, being able to be next to the sea, taking long walks along the beach and discovering hidden spots. In fact, the place she simply doesn’t miss out on visiting when she comes is the old town: “just by walking along its narrow streets, you discover something new every time. The food, the people and the atmosphere are great everywhere you look”, she said.
Darja’s stay at El Fuerte Marbella was made all the more special, as she was able to celebrate her mother’s birthday there, renting bikes at the hotel and touring Marbella together.
